As an aspiring word-class university wishing to expand its global network, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has launched the Fun Bahasa Indonesia and Cultural Course Program (FBICC) in 2020. This program has become a flagship program of ITS Global Engagement, accommodating global citizens who have interest in learning Indonesian language and culture. The materials will be about basic Indonesian language as well as cultural knowledge such as: Surabaya city tour, Indonesian history, traditional activities, and ITS Campus Tour.

Since its launching in 2020, over 3,056 participants from more than 101 countries have joined the FBICC program. Continuing the success of the online program during quarantine, ITS now offers the 2024 in 4 specific themes:

• FBICC for General Purposes: Let’s Get to Know Indonesia

• FBICC for Traveling: Exploring the Exotic Indonesia

• FBICC for University Life: Experiencing Student Life in Indonesia

• FBICC for Business: A Business Trip to A Land of Opportunities

Program scheme

1. The course instruction will be delivered in English, participants must have an adequate English communication skill.

2. The program will be conducted online by using Zoom Meeting as the platform.

3.  The schedule of FBICC class is in Eastern Indonesia Time (GMT+7), participants shall convert to their local timezone and join the class accordingly (the time difference between Eastern Indonesia Time and Colombian time (UTC-5) is 12 hours).

4. The course is conducted 2x every week consisting of 12 meetings (program opening, online language classes, cultural meetings, final test, and closing ceremony).

5. Each meeting lasts for 90 minutes, participants are required to come on time.

6. The capacity for each class is max. 30 participants, the class slot will be closed once the capacity is full.

7. Each participant can only join one theme chosen upon registration.

8. You can only pick one theme/class

9. Customized scheduled can be requested for particular country with more than 20 participants

10. This program is free of charge

Registration

1. Fill in the online registration form at https://its.id/fbicc_2024. Applicants need to prepare formal photo (color) and scan of passport (color). The file must be in good resolution.

2. Registration is open for every batch, kindly in mind that each batch has its own unique timeline and deadline.

3. Applicants will get notification through email for further confirmation/acceptance.
